On this nine-night intensive journey through Spain, you’ll be immersed in the culture of this vibrant nation. And along the way, you’ll see amazing architecture, discover fascinating history, and enjoy some of the most fabulous food and wine on Earth.
However, before arriving in Spain, you’ll spend two nights in Portugal. Your journey will begin in the cultural hub of Lisbon, where rolling hills frame the ancient city in panoramic perfection. Then, it’s off for a day in Portimão. Seafood lovers take note, you’ll want to visit the open-air market along Rua da Barco for a delicious — and authentically Portuguese — meal.
From here, Spain awaits! We’ll arrive in Seville for two overnights — ensuring you’ll have plenty of time to stroll the winding cobblestone lanes, falling in love with the city’s enchanting mix of baroque and gothic architecture. While here, explore Real Alcázar — a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its gorgeous gardens, breathtaking fountains, and the spectacular Palacio de Don Pedro.
Next, we’ll temporarily wave goodbye to Spain as we arrive in Gibraltar, a British Overseas Territory on Spain’s southern coast. Of course, the main event here is the legendary Rock of Gibraltar — a 1,400-foot natural fortress that towers over the Mediterranean. Keep an eye open for the Barbary macaques that call the rock home, not that they’re hard to miss!
Magnificent Malaga is next, home of the Picasso museum and a thriving art scene, followed by an overnight stay in Valencia. Spain’s third-largest city, vibrant Valencia is overflowing with culture, cuisine, and contemporary architecture like the Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias. While here, be sure to sample paella, one of Valencia’s famous rice dishes. Our journey concludes in Barcelona, but with the stunning Sagrada Familia and lively La Rambla on the horizon — your adventure is just beginning.
