To the Leeward Islands, our first stop the butterfly wings of French-Creole Guadeloupe, sands segueing from sugar white to volcanic black, ahead of Antigua and Barbuda, home to the blush-pink beaches and a beguiling mix of modern tropicality and British history.
The BVIs bring the voluptuous, rain-forested curves of Virgin Gorda, coined by Christopher Columbus for her silhouette of a reclining woman, where we might seek the seawater pools of the infamous Baths and summit the peak. Days at sea slide seamlessly, languidly into sunset, before we slip into Magic City, its meld of culture and design suffused with a smidge of decadence.
