Travel for Introverts
I was just fascinated when I came across this article about a new type of travel launched by the Swedish
This week, I want to talk about a destination rather than a specific package – the islands of Antigua and Barbuda.
The two main islands, Antigua and Barbuda, along with several smaller, uninhabited islands, make up an independent island nation in the West Indies, located where the Caribbean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean meet.
This is a very different destination from the usual Mexico all-inclusive. When visiting these islands, we recommend getting out and exploring. There are all-inclusive resorts, but we recommend touring the islands, as there are plenty of great dining options, with a host of lovely restaurants to choose from.
If you stay on Antigua (which is larger than Barbuda), you can still travel across to Barbuda and explore. It’s an hour-long ferry ride or a 20-minute flight. Barbuda is famous for its beautiful pink-sand beaches.
Key Facts
One destination. Two islands. 365 beaches. – One for each day of the year!
Festivals, sailing, culinary celebrations and culture, all year long.
From the energy of Carnival to the elegance of Sailing Week, from Culinary Month to Art Week, Antigua & Barbuda moves to its own rhythm. Drift between Antigua’s vibrant coastline and Barbuda’s untouched pink-sand shores – two distinct escapes in one unforgettable Caribbean destination.
