Meet the staff

A little bit about us - where we came from, where we've been. I love having such a variety of personalities in my office. Everyone is different and unique, but we do have one thing in common...a passion for travel.

 

Lesley: I was born in England and immigrated to South Africa when I was in my teens. I raised a family in the small Kingdom of Swaziland (next door to South Africa) and from here was able to explore Mozambique, Zimbabwe and most of South Africa including the game parks. I also travelled to Europe, Mauritius, Seychelles and Madagascar while I lived there. Since coming to Canada 15 years ago I have visited many islands of the Caribbean, the South Pacific, Australia and New Zealand. My passion is travel and I love cruising. I hope to complete my exams shortly for my Master Cruise Counsellor certificate. 

 

Lindsay: I was born and raised in Zimbabwe and lived in both South Africa and Swaziland before moving to Calgary. I’ve been working as the Accountant for The Travel Lady Agency since 2000. Having a passion for travel myself, it’s easy to work side by side with Lesley and the rest of the staff. The atmosphere in the office is that of a small family business; the consultants each have various travel experiences and a personal interest their clients. I’ve traveled extensively worldwide and would love to return to Hong Kong someday – such an exotic and exciting place with the perfect touch of luxury. A European river cruise is next on my list.

 

Tracy: I was born and raised in Fernie, BC and moved to Alberta in 1991. I studied Travel and Tourism at Lethbridge Community College, and then worked for 5 years at an agency in Pincher Creek. I have been with The Travel Lady Agency since 1999. I took a 6-year hiatus to start my family, but now I’m back and I love it! I’ve been fortunate enough to have visited Mexico and cruised to many of the Caribbean islands. I’ve also experienced some of Europe and quite a bit of the USA (Disney is an essential holiday when you have kids). I enjoy planning all kind of trips for all kinds of people, but I especially like helping families plan their vacations. Next on my list of must-see-destinations is Costa Rica…but I’m always up for Disney!

 

Donna: Born in Adelaide, South Australia, my family moved first to Nova Scotia and then settled down in Calgary. I started off my stint in the travel industry with a job on the cruise ships. This has been a great benefit to me, having visited most of the Caribbean and Mediterranean. After four years on the ships, I came right to The Travel Lady and have been here since 2002. My passion is of course, everything to do with cruising! I also love planning trips to Africa and the South Pacific. A Baltic cruise is next on my list, along with Tahiti and Egypt.

 

Amanda: I was born in Virginia Beach, Virginia. When I was still a toddler my family moved to Alberta and that’s where I grew up. I’ve been in the travel industry for ten years. I spent sometime working in Edmonton and Florida. After that I took six months to backpack around Europe before I came to The Travel Lady Agency in 2004. I am familiar with quite a bit of the world, but planning trips to Europe and Africa is what gets me most excited. Italy is especially fun to work on – I would love to return there and visit more of Tuscany and the Amalfi Coast. First I need to check out Russia, Botswana and Croatia. Amanda is currently on maternity leave.

 

Anni: I was born in Burnaby, BC, but have lived in Smithers, Whitehorse and finally Calgary. In 2003 I graduated from the University of Calgary with a Bachelor of Science in Anthropology. I then moved on to the travel program at SAIT. I’ve been working in the travel industry

since 2005, after graduating with honours at the top of my class. I joined the The Travel Lady team in 2006. I have experience planning trips all over the world, but I especially enjoy Central and South America, Asia…the more exotic destinations. Of all the amazing places I’ve visited, London is my favourite. I love the vibrant big city feel and hustle and bustle of London; there is so much to do! I’ve seen quite a bit of Europe, as well as Central America, the Caribbean and Japan. Egypt is at the top of my travel list and has been for quite a while.

 

Helen: I was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia and grew up  in Ottawa, Ontario. I moved to Calgary in 2007; I’ve been with The Travel Lady since I first arrived. I work on the marketing side of things here; the website, social media, our weekly newsletter, helping out with TV and so much more. It's nice being able to use a bit of my creativity on the job. I have been lucky enough to see some of Europe’s most spectacular countries such as Norway, Greece and more. South East Asia has been calling my name pretty loudly for a while, as well as India and Ireland. Visit my blog and read about my travel experiences!

 

Vered: I was born in Nahariya in Northern Israel and grew up in Tel-Aviv. I moved to Canada in 2009 and completed my BA in Travel and Tourism Management in July of 2010 from the University of Derby. I have been working in the travel industry since 2007 with my time split between El Al Israeli Airlines and a travel agency specializing in group tours to the Middle East. I love to help clients plan any kind of holiday but especially to Israel, Egypt, Jordan and China - that is my passion. I am so lucky to have travelled to Brazil, China, the Middle east, some of Europe and of course the USA and Canada. My favourite trip so far was my honeymoon to Hawaii; surfing in Honolulu was a dream come true! I would love to visit Thailand and Vietnam for my next vacation, but if that doesn’t work I am always happy to return to Hawaii.
